The research activities of Unicancer’s R&D Department and Data and Partnerships Department, as well as the network of FCCCs, have been ISO 9001 (version 2015) certified since 1 October 2018.

This international label is a real guarantee of a high level of quality and bears witness to the efficient structuring of Unicancer’s R&D and Data & Partnerships Departments.

This translates into better quality research on a daily basis and an increase in the visibility and attractiveness of these two research departments and the FCCCs.

This standard defines the requirements for the implementation of a quality management system for organisations wishing to continuously improve customer satisfaction and provide compliant products and services. The objective of the quality approach according to the ISO 9001 standard is to contribute to quality research through the improvement of practices and the organisation of structures.

In addition to recognising the quality of our research organisation and the strong involvement of our teams, this ISO 9001 certification confirms our ability to pursue our research activities in search of diagnostic and therapeutic innovations for cancer patients

Jean-Yves Blay – Unicancer President

The main guidelines of this standard aim to:

  • Increase stakeholder satisfaction
  • Demonstrate the ability of the certified organisation to provide a compliant service
  • Continuously improve its organisation

In the context of ISO 9001 certification, the process approach is the basis of the Quality Management System structure.

In the context of the R&D and Data and Partnerships Departments, various processes are determined and piloted by employees and the Quality Assurance Unit of the R&D Department. These processes contribute to a clear and controlled vision of the organisation oriented towards the quality of our research.

Maintaining ISO 9001 certification is based on a continuous improvement approach, coordinated by the Quality Assurance Unit of Unicancer R&D.

This approach is marked out by various campaigns planned annually: internal process audits, process reviews, supplier evaluation, satisfaction studies of interested parties, management review. The process management teams are involved in each of these stages.

ISO 9001 certification is awarded by an independent accredited body. It is issued for a renewable period of 3 years and within this framework Unicancer is subject to annual audits by this accredited organisation.
